Junichi Tazawa has been promoted to the Pawtucket Red Sox, according to Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal.
Tazawa, 25, is recovering from Tommy John Surgery. He has a 32 record at the Double-A level this season with a 4.70 ERA in 23 innings of work as both a starter and a reliever. In that time, he struck out 27 batters and walked seven.
The righty spent time in the major leagues in 2009, prior to his injury.
