Jerry Remy and NESN revealed Monday that the longtime Red Sox broadcaster’s lung cancer has returned.

Remy tweeted Monday that he was diagnosed again, but that it was “under control,” while NESN said that Remy expects to broadcast games this season.

This will be Remy’s 30th season as the Red Sox’ color commentator. The 64-year-old was first diagnosed in 2008, having surgery that year and again in 2013 following a relapse.

Remy spent most of his major league career with the Red Sox, playing in Boston from 1978 through 1984 after beginning his career with the Angels.
