Red Sox assistant general manager Mike Hazen has been named senior vice president/GM under president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski, the team announced Thursday afternoon.
Hazen had been an assistant GM since 2012 and was the team's scouting director in 2011. Hazen began his tenure with the Red Sox as director of player development in 2006. Prior to that, he spent five years with the Cleveland Indians organization.
