Ortiz: Red Sox are 'a little confused right now'

BOSTON -- If you're confused about the Red Sox' collapse, you're not alone.

David Ortiz is, too.

"I don't remember, to be honest with you, going through a month like this after the team had been playing well," he said Wednesday night. "That's the craziest thing about it.

"We were playing good. We had a tough April . . . But we put it together. Everything was going great until we walked into September.

"We're a little confused right now, because we try to give everything we have and it's not happening. Things are not going our way."
