Ordway: Why wouldn't Farrell call out Sandoval?

Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval missed Thursday's game after admitted he was on Instagram during the team's 5-2 loss on Wednesday.

Sandoval was warned by MLB about violating its social media policy, and John Farrell says the situation was "addressed internally" by the organization.

"Here's the mistake that John Farrell made. He comes out yesterday and he tells the media there's a specific rule that we have and Major League Baseball has," said Glenn Ordway on Arbella Early Edition. "What John Farrell should have said is, when a game is tied at two apiece, we're in the seventh inning and we have a player who's not focused on the team as a group and is more concerned about getting a little booty after the game. There's a problem here. Why wouldn't he call out Sandoval?"

Kirk Minihane believes Farrell's coaching strategy has backfired on him.

"He's a player's manager, bottom line," said Minihane. "This is the way he's going to go out when he's fired - whether it's next week or the end of the year. At his press conference he's going to go, he says goodbye, he's going to thank the players, the players will say, 'we really liked him' and he'll be gone."
