Mookie Betts has arrived in the big leagues, but has it happened too fast?
On the Baseball Show, Bob Neumeier explained why he doesn't agree with the move.
"I don't trust the Red Sox management to do the right thing with this kid," said Neumeier. "They've made a litany of ridiculous moves this year, none have worked out, possibly with the exception of Badenhop as a reliever."
Neumeier believes there is far too much pressure on Betts already.
"I see a kid that has played 23 games at Triple-A." explained Neumeier. "I see a kid that has only played 29 games as an outfielder… The expectation's suddenly that this kid is going to come in a 21-years-old and suddenly help the Red Sox find a spot in the playoffs."
"It's a crazy fast-track is what it is. This is a young, impressionable kid, he's 21-years-old. Let's say he starts out 0-19 and they ship him back down to Triple-A?… they've got a lot invested in this kid."
