FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Red Sox minor league outfielder Corey Brown got hit by a pitch on the back of his left hand, and had to leave the game in the third inning against Boston College on Thursday and left the game as a precaution.

The Sox took x-rays after the game, which showed no fracture.

"There was no fracture of any kind,'' said Farrell. "We'll check him in the morning when he comes in to see if he's going to need a day or so.''
