The Red Sox hope they have found their long-term center fielder in the newly acquired Rusney Castillo.
The team officially signed the Cuban outfielder to a seven-year, $72 million contract last week.
On The Baseball Show, Sean McAdam broke down the expectations for Castillo.
"When you listen to scouting reports and talk to people around the game there's a lot of excitement about his potential and ceiling," said McAdam. "because he's a terrific athlete, got great speed, good instincts in the outfield and power that could probably continue to come.
"He's not going to be a 30 home run guy the way Abreu and Cespedes could be, but enough power to be a run producer."
When could Castillo make his debut with the Red Sox?
"I think there is a feeling on the Red Sox part that there would be an advantage to seeing him in game conditions, even if it's for a couple of weeks here." said McAdam. "So maybe the middle of September just as they might with an advanced prospect they were calling up as rosters expand."
