The Red Sox have had a lot of problems this season.

On Sports Sunday, Michael Felger pointed out the numbers of David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia and wondered if they are getting their share of the criticism.

Lou Merloni admitted the Red Sox second baseman isn't having a "Dustin Pedroia-like season."

"Absolutely, they've been struggling," said Merloni. "When a team is struggling, you expect a guy like Dustin Pedroia to be out front, kind of handling this thing, coming up with big hits."

Merloni doesn't blame Pedroia and Ortiz for all of the Red Sox struggles.

"This team didn't win a World Series last year because of Pedroia and Ortiz. They won it because everybody around them chipped in on a given night. It's been a full team effort."
