KANSAS CITY - Outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury, who suffered a subluxation of the right shoulder in the Red Sox' home opener, was out on the field at Kauffman Stadium Tuesday afternoon, going through agility drills for the first time since the injury.

Until Tuesday, Ellsbury has pretty much been limited to just cardiovascular workouts.

"They're really excited about his acceleration," said Bobby Valentine of the Red Sox' training staff. "This is the beginning of the next step in his program, where he's able to swing his arm and make all those movements, agility-wise."

Ellsbury tweeted an update on his health earlier in the day.
