BOSTON - With Brandon Workman's suspension officially underway starting on Wednesday, the Red Sox will need a starting pitcher for Friday's game against the Athletics.

John Farrell wouldn't 100-percent say that it's going to be Felix Doubront, but it sure sounds like it's the most likely possibility. Doubront said just as much after Wednesday's game in Boston, too.

Doubront pitched Sunday for the PawSox, and his next start lines up perfectly with Friday. He's traveling with the team out west, and appears ready to go.

"I feel good, I feel good," Doubront said. "Like I said, I'm ready to come back and glad to be here, good to be here again."

Doubront has made three rehab starts with the PawSox since being placed on the disabled list on May 21 with a left shoulder strain. In those starts he has a 2.63 ERA with five walks and 15 strikeouts.

On Sunday, he pitched five no-hit innings, racking up 10 strikeouts along the way.

"Time off gave me more power in my arm, more concentration, more focus," Doubront said.

It will be no easy return for Doubront facing an A's team considered by many to be the best baseball. At 44-28, they have the best record, are first in runs with 369 and first by a landslide in run differential at +132 (Giants are second at +47).
