Jon Lester hinted at his introductory press conference in Oakland that he wasn't ruling out continuing "a relationship" with the Red Sox when he becomes a free agent in the offseason.

"We’ll see where that relationship goes later on," Lester told the media.

Joining Sports Tonight on Friday, 98.5 The Sports Hub's Rich Keefe said: "I don't think he's coming back. If they wanted him, they would've signed him to an extension."

Greg Dickerson can't understand why anyone would think Lester would return.

"Why is everybody playing this game? From David Ortiz to the Red Sox?" he asked. "It's over. O-V-A. He ain't coming back. He's not coming back here unless he comes back in someone else's uniform."

Jones thinks the most likely landing spot is the Yankees. With CC Sabathia's career threatened, the rest of rotation in shambles and the retiring Derek Jeter's contract coming off the books, they should be flush with cash -- as they always are -- and likely be the highest bidder for Lester.
