Ever since Will Middlebrooks arrived on the scene Kevin Youkilis' future in Boston has been up in the air.
With the Arizona Diamondbacks in the market for a third baseman, the team has reportedly kicked the tires of the 33-year-old veteran.
Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reported that after taking a few looks at Youkilis, D-Backs GM Kevin Towers is hesitant to pull the trigger on a deal. The Red Sox's asking price is reportedly very high at the moment for their veteran third baseman.
Theyre trying to make it look like hes the Youkilis of five years ago instead of the Youkilis of today, one source said. Boston has asked for gold glove outfielder Gerardo Parra to be included in any package. The Diamondbacks are not currently interested in parting with the 25-year-old outfielder.
