David Ortiz isn't angry. He was joking with reporters about the weather back in Boston when he sat down with the media on Wednesday. Still, when it comes to his contract, that's when Big Papi gets serious.
"People been killing me when I get that question asked and I give an answer, but I think we're going to be fine," Ortiz said. "Being one of the greatest to ever where this uniform, too. Some people forget about that. I think it's disrespectul for people to say I'm greedy, that all I want to talk about it my contract. I When am I going to talk about it, when I retire?"
CSNNE.com Red Sox insider Sean McAdam says it's all part of what pushes Big Papi.
"This is part of the way, and he acknowledges it, that he drives himself and motivates himself," McAdam said. "As he says, he likes to play with a chip on his shoulder. The problem is, he starts painting with a broad brush and then you realize there are only a couple of people he's really mad with."
