The Miami Heat are playing in their fourth-consecutive NBA Finals. They have dominated the NBA behind a Big 3 of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
But how would they have fared in a seven game series against the 2008 Boston Celtics' Big 3 of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen (who happens to now play for the Heat)?
Kyle Draper, Jimmy Toscano and Celtics Insider A. Sherrod Blakely debate the issue.
"I crunched the numbers." says Toscano. "I looked at all the rosters top to bottom. I think the Celtics would take it in a Game 7.
"That Celtics team, they were unstoppable. They [won 45 games] by 10 or more points in the regular season."
It's debates like these that make sports so much fun.
"You’re talking about two of the best teams really in the last 10-15 years," says Blakely. "I’ve got to give the edge to the Heat.
"When you look at their roster, and you look at guys like Mike Miller, guys like Ray Allen… guys who took huge pay cuts to be a part of that team. They have more quality depth."
Allen isn't the player today that he was in '08 with the Celtics, but then again, Rajon Rondo wasn't the same player in 2008 that he is today.
Who would you take in a seven game series?
