As Draft Day draws nearer, Tim Welsh shares his list of prospects for the Celtics to target with their No. 6 pick.

Player to Avoid

Julius Randle - Kentucky

"Randle has some great qualities at the forward spot, but can’t step out and shoot, not that skilled as a passer and as a defender," says Welsh.

"The Celtics have a power forward for the future in Jared Sullinger. I would stay away from Julius Randle."

Player that would Shock Everyone

Nik Stauskas - Michigan

“His individual workouts have been very impressive," says Welsh. "Most people think he’s the best pure shooter in the draft.”

Stauskus would certainly be a surprising pick at that slot. Most people have him pegged as a pick outside the Top 10.

Player Worth Trading Up For

Marcus Smart - Oklahoma State

"I think he’s going to be a real good, All-Star type quality guard,” says Welsh.

The Celtics would likely need to move up to No. 3 or 4 to be in position to grab Smart.
