Turner explains why he pulled Lebron aside after C's win

BOSTON – Evan Turner couldn’t resist the urge to get in a little smack talk with LeBron James following Boston’s 117-78 win over Cleveland.

But it had nothing to do with the game itself (James and three other starters didn’t play, so the score … yeah, it is what it is) or the fact that the Celtics and the Cavaliers may meet up in the first round of the playoffs.

It was about James’ son, LeBron James Jr. who has become a bit of an internet sensation showcasing some pretty nifty basketball skills for a 10-year-old who is already drawing some attention from college programs.

However, Turner believes the son of Golden State’s Andre Iguodala, Andre Iguodala Jr., is better.

Turner said he was initially taking with Cleveland’s Iman Shumpert who played with Turner dating back to middle school.

“LeBron came over to me because I’m a (Ohio State) Buckeye or whatever, and that was it,” Turner said. “I told him (James), I know a little guy who could beat his young guy? He asked me who? I told him, Andre Iguodala Jr. So we just laughed about that.”

Turner added, “It wasn’t anything crazy or anything like that.”

Talking smack to LeBron James right on the eve of the playoffs?

Yeah, that’s a little nutty.

But the idea that college coaches are already looking to recruit kids who are just nine and 10 years old now?

Now that’s crazy.
