As the Celtics rebuild is in full motion, Danny Ainge continues to collect assets, whether it's players of draft picks.
"It's like he's collecting art or something," said Ian Thomsen. "He's got more paintings than he has room on his walls. He's putting them in his attic, his basement, everywhere."
Thomsen believes Ainge is collecting the assets in hopes of a relatively short rebuild.
"It's going to be as fast as possible," continued Thomsen. "He's always going to be pushing. He hasn't given up on this Kevin Love thing. He's always going to be pushing to turn this thing around. I don't think he wants to be bad for a long time."
If the Celtics can't land a star like Kevin Love, who should they target? Thomsem isn't sure.
"Things always change in this league, you don't know who will be available. He has to have the assets available to trade for them when they are."
