As the NBA trade deadline of Thursday at 3 p.m. approaches, Rajon Rondo is again conducting his annual ritual of addressing how he feels being bandied about in rumors.
He sat down with CSNNE Celtics sideline reporter Abby Chin in Phoenix, before the C's faced the Suns in their first game after the All-Star break on Wednesday night, and again talked of how he tunes out the rumors.
"Stay focused," Rondo said. "I can only control so much. Right now, I'm a Celtic and I'm going to go out tonight and play as hard as I can if I'm still here."
Rondo arrived in Phoenix on Monday and participated in the Celtics optional workout. After playing in 10 games since returning from nearly a year off following his ACL injury, he said he's said getting back to work early was important as he tries to regain his pre-injury form.
"I got back Monday. [It's important to] try to get back in somewhat of a rhythm," he said.
His goals as the unofficial second half of the season begins?
"Continue to get stronger," he said. "Improve my game, learn about my teammates and get some more wins."
