Celtics rookie R.J. Hunter’s dad, Ron Hunter, flew up from Atlanta to watch his son’s team play against the Indiana Pacers.
Not only did Hunter make his NBA debut, but he also got his first career basket.
“I was trying to be nice and calm, but I think the dad came out of me. I was really proud to see that” explained Hunter in an interview with CSNNE Celtics sideline reporter Abby Chin.
“I’m just being dad. I’ve never been in this position where I could just be dad and cheer, cheer for Boston. I think that’s great. I’m just being dad. If he wants coaching advice, he’s got a great coach right now. He doesn’t need another coach.”
