Report: Love doesn't hold grudge against Celtics

The Cavaliers handled the Celtics rather easily in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

But the series win came at a high cost: the loss of Kevin Love.

Kelly Olynyk and Love got tangled up going for a loose ball, and Olynyk tugged on Love's arm - seriously injuring his shoulder.

That took Love out of the game and unfortunately the remainder of the playoffs, as Love required surgery.

Did it also ruin the chances he'd sign a deal to play in Boston?

The interest that the Celtics have had in Love over the last couple seasons has been well documented, and it seems Love at least somewhat has expressed some interest back.

But with Olynyk taking him out of the playoffs, the thought was that Love would hold it against both Olynyk and the Celtics when free agency came around.

That, according to NBA.com's David Aldridge is not the case.

While Yahoo reports that Love isn't willing to hear or accept an apology from Olynyk, Aldrige writes, "I'm told authoritatively that Love holds no long-lasting ill will toward either the Celtics or Olynyk."

It makes sense. Love is an adult. It would be kind of foolish if he held a grudge against the Celtics organization over that. There's certainly no reason to believe it was Olynyk's intention to injure him, and the Celtics did nothing to make it seem like they were targeting him. If anything, he was open too much out there.

Boston has the salary space and the feature role carved out for Love if he does in fact opt out of his player option with the Cavaliers after this season.
