Report: Are the Celtics looking at Darko Milicic?

A report from Europe suggests former 2nd overall pick Darko Milicic is on his way to the United States, with the Celtics the front runners to sign him.

Novosti.rs reports that the Serbian born Milicic turned down a three-year, 6 million dollar offer from Real Madrid because he wants to play in the NBA.

The Celtics start training camp a week from Saturday, and while there are currently no roster spots open, size is always a premium.

Milicic is 7'0", 275 lbs., and played in 29 games last season for Minnesota, averaging 4.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg, and .9 blocks.

Darko is best known as being the 2nd overall pick by Detroit in the loaded 2003 Draft, just behind LeBron James, but ahead of Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade.
