If there's one thing we like in Boston (besides winning), it's drama.
So you can bet with Paul Pierce back in town, the former Celtics captain would be asked to weigh in on the Rajon Rondo "Birthday Gate" incident.
Rondo infamously decided to stay behind and celebrate his birthday while his teammates traveled to Sacramento for a game against the Kings (Rondo was not scheduled to play in the game.)
"I thought it was great that he enjoyed his birthday," says Pierce. "He said he wasn’t playing anyway. I enjoy my birthday every year but mine is in the pre-season.
"I don’t see what the big deal is. I think everybody’s making a big issue of it."
Is there anything Pierce would like to say to Rondo about the incident?
"Happy birthday, Rondo,” said Pierce.
