Murphy: Fit better with Celtics than Heat

Calling it "tough" to decide between the Celtics and Heat, Troy Murphy said he was excited to arrive at the TD Garden Wednesday.

Murphy, bought out by the Golden State Warriors earlier this week, chose to sign with the Celtics.

"It was a tough decision; two great organizations and just happy to be here," said Murphy. "It just felt like I fit in and the way they play, I think, fit my style of play."

"Just the way the guys play -- the way they look for each other, the team concept they have -- I think was something that I wanted to be a part of," said Murphy. "It's a heck of a team and I'm just pumped up to be here."

He was immediately greeted with a hug from Ray Allen in the hallway outside the locker room.

"Good to see you, good to have you," said Allen.

Murphy's reply? "Looking forward to it."

He said he'd be ready to play against the Suns.
