New Knicks president Phil Jackson can rest easy. Carmelo Anthony is returning to New York.
After apparently some last-minute second thoughts about spurning The Big Apple for Chicago, Anthony is hours away from informing the Knicks he'll be back for a five-year, $120 million-plus max deal, Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Just a matter of hours until Carmelo Anthony informs the Knicks of his return on a five-year deal, as @FisolaNYDN reported this week.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) July 12, 2014
According to Wojnarowski, the deal will be announced publicly on Sunday.
Even before LeBron James set the NBA free agency dominoes in motion, Anthony's imminent return to New York was first reported earlier in the week by Frank Isola of The New York Daily News.
