He disappears in the fourth quarter. He's not the kind of player who can carry a team. The Celtics' Jeff Green has heard the criticism. And you know what? He doesn't care.

At least that's what he told the Boston Herald in a story published Tuesday. Here's a portion of his comments:

“I can care less about what other people have to say about my performance. You know, everybody’s entitled to their own opinion, so I really don’t pay attention to it. I’m just trying to come into each year being healthy and being able to play this game...They don’t know, because they haven’t been through it. That’s why I say I can care less what people say. They can talk and say whatever they want to say. You know, I don’t give a [expletive]. It don’t bother me.”

Celtics radio analyst and former C's great Cedric Maxwell, on Sports Tonight, said it shows that Green isn't tuning out the critics.

"You wouldn't say these things if it did not bother you," Maxwell said. "I think Jeff Green can be a trermendous asset to this team. But there have been times, and if you're a critic, it's a fair criticism that Jeff has had these tremendous games and some times he hasn't played as well. If you give fans great games, all they want is more."

Bob Neumeier isn't bothered by Jeff Green's comments. If fact, he says, "I love Jeff Green's comments. You know why? Why should he listen to blowhards like me or others on the radio. Just play your game."
