Gorman: Thomas runs too hot after games

Appearing on Toucher & Rich, Mike Gorman said Friday that Isaiah Thomas runs too hot immediately after games, which explains his recent criticism of Brad Stevens.

After blowing a 13-point lead Monday against the Clippers, Thomas lumped in Stevens with the responsible parties and criticized Stevens’ coaching.

“It’s just the way we lost tonight was unacceptable,” Thomas said Monday. “We lost the game in the last 15 minutes of the game. We played a really good game up until the last 15 minutes. And that’s the players’ fault, the coaches’ fault, that’s everybody in this locker room’s fault. We could have done a lot better.”

Added Thomas: "We should have won this game. We should have won [the previous game vs. Phoenix]. We can't be experimenting in Game 63."

Gorman said that he’s glad that Thomas apologized to Stevens, but that his comments are the result of how fired up he is after games.

“I wish he hadn’t [spoken out], but he’s like that,” Gorman said. “He’s really competitive. He doesn’t think too much right after games. You’ve seen him in press conferences. He’s  very very good, but right after games, he’s spur of the moment. His filtering dives aren’t really there.”
