Crowder, Thomas get move improved player votes

BOSTON – The Celtics had a pair of players finish among the top eight vote-getters for the NBA’s Most Improved Award, which went to Portland’s C.J. McCollum.
 
Jae Crowder, who set personal bests in just about every statistical category this season, was sixth in the voting after receiving 25 votes (one first-place vote, eight second-place and 16 third-place votes) for a total of 45 points.
 
Teammate Isaiah Thomas, named to his first All-Star team this season, was eighth in the voting after receiving a total of 12 votes (three first-place votes, three seconds and six thirds), which totaled 30 points.
 
First-place votes are worth five points, second place three points and third place votes receive one point.
