Crowder (shin) questionable vs. Knicks Tuesday

There is some uncertainty as to whether Jae Crowder, an ironman for the Boston Celtics this season, will be able to go Tuesday night against the New York Knicks.

Crowder suffered a bruised shin in Sunday’s 1191-114 loss at Orlando.

The 6-foot-6 forward told reporters after the defeat that he suffered the injury early in the game.

That would make sense out of what was one of the few poorly-played games by Crowder this season.

He had five points on 2-for-8 shooting which included him missing five of his six 3-point attempts.

Crowder struggled defensively as well which was evident by a defensive rating (points allowed per 100 possessions) of a team-worst 134.1.

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens held Crowder out of practice today.

“We’ll see how he (Crowder) feels in the morning,” Stevens told reporters.

Crowder, who signed a five-year, $35 million deal with Boston in the offseason, has been among the NBA’s most improved players this season.

He is the only Celtics player to start every game this season, averaging career highs in several categories such as scoring (14.3), rebounding (5.0), assists (1.9), steals (1.8) in addition to shooting a career-best 36-percent from 3-point range.
