Who knows a player better than his former coach?
Jessica Moran caught up with Kentucky Wildcats coach John Calipari to discuss what No. 17 pick James Young has to offer the Celtics.
"He's got a ways to go, he's 19," said Calipari. "[He's] as fast as anyone in the draft, as long and athletic as anyone in the draft and can really shoot… The people in Boston are going to love him."
The 19-year-old seemed a bit shy when talking to the media, but Calipari says that changes when Jones steps on the court.
"Very quiet, he's got an edge to him on the court," said Calipari. "When it's time to bring it, he brings it… Probably the youngest player in the draft is James Young. The upside and the talent, wow. To get him in the middle of the first [round], wow. Terrific pick."
