BOSTON — One superstar back, another on the way.
Boston's Rajon Rondo is expected to make his regular season debut tonight, while Lakers star Kobe Bryant (knee) is targeting a February return to the court.
Former Lakers great Magic Johnson recently said that because of the Lakers' struggles this season, Bryant should sit out the remainder of this season.
Bryant, addressing the media prior to Friday's game, said sitting out this season is not an option he will consider.
"The only thing I can afford to consider is getting better, getting stronger," Bryant said. "I can't allow myself to think any other way. I can only think about the next day. To do anything else becomes distracting.
Bryant added, "You give yourself wiggle room to not push yourself as hard as you possibly can. By thinking I'm going to sit out, or this, that or the other, then the motivation's gone. I refuse to let that happen."
