Blakely's midseason Celtics report card

BOSTON – We’re at the midway point of the season and the Boston Celtics are feeling pretty good about themselves.

They hit the halfway point of the season having won three straight, the last of which was a hard-fought, 119-117 road win at Washington on Saturday.

It was a fitting performance for Boston (22-19) with so many of the team’s best players delivering big plays in the closing moments to escape with the victory.

Even with the Celtics having won more games at this point in the season than they did in head coach Brad Stevens’ previous two years, you won’t find a single player in that locker room who isn’t convinced that their record should have at least three or four more wins padded onto it.

“We definitely gave away a few games this season that we probably should have won,” Boston’s Amir Johnson told CSNNE.com.

But that should not diminish from what has been a solid first half of the season, one that has them currently in position to make a second straight trip to the playoffs.

So as we hit the midway point of the season, we take a minute to reflect upon what each player has done thus far in our midseason report card.
