PLYMOUTH, Mass. – Like most of us, Danny Ainge hasn’t seen Jared Sullinger this summer other than social media pictures of what appears to be the 6-foot-9 big man not so big anymore.

When Ainge was asked whether he was happy with what he has seen, Ainge quipped, “My eyes aren’t good enough to see the Twitter pictures.”

There has been lots of talk about Sullinger’s weight and conditioning and whether it would once again be an issue for him going forward.

Sullinger said near the end of last season how he planned to work diligently towards improving his body which would enable to him to become more of an impact player this season.

And you can’t help but expect Sullinger to make the necessary changes to get better with this being a contract year.

Ainge said he has spoken with the representatives for Sullinger as well as Tyler Zeller, who like Sullinger could become a restricted free agent next summer if an extension isn’t reached by the end of October.

And as far as Sullinger’s body transformation, Ainge said he’s not worried about that at all.

“I know Jared has put in a lot of work this summer,” Ainge said. “It’s a big year for him and for us. I’m confident he’s going to have a terrific year.”
