BOSTON With the Stanley Cup firmly in Bostons grasp after defeating the Vancouver Canucks during a wildly entertaining seven game final, the focus has finally moved on to the fine details of winning the Cup.

The final preparations are underway for the Saturday rolling rally with the Bruins partying with the city of Boston on duck boats and it should be a full cast of Black and Gold characters. Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli confirmed that concussed center Marc Savard will be flying down from Ontario, and will be a part of the weekend celebration for Bostons first Cup in 39 years.

Theres also the housekeeping of who actually gets their name on the 35-pound, 3-foot piece of hockey immortality.

Though the NHL requirement is to appear in at least 41 games or play in a Stanley Cup Final game in order to have their name engraved on the silver chalice, there is a precedent for the backup goaltender being included even if he played less than 41 games during the season.

So Tuukka Rask is in with only 29 games played during the regular season and no appearances during the Cup Finals.

Chiarelli said hes looking into the process of getting the names of both Marc Savard and Steve Kampfer included along with the rest of the Bruins players. Savard played in 29 games before another January concussion knocked him out for the season and Kampfer skated in 38 games for the Bruins during his rookie season.

Chiarelli is hoping both will find their names on the Cup despite not meeting the general criteria that doesnt take season-ending injuries into account among its qualifications. There is a petition process that the Bs manager is looking into when it comes to Cup inclusion, and just won of a number of things on Chiarellis punch list now that a dream playoff run has come to an end.

I dont know what the process is," Chiarelli said. "Ive given it a little bit of thought. You know certainly those two deserve to be on it, so well see what we can do to get them on it and go from there.
