  • Yeah, the season's just about one month old, but already USC has fired Lane Kiffen and UConn dumped Paul Pasqualoni. So there are some in Texas -- like former Longhorns star Earl Campbell -- calling for Mack Brown's dismissal. And Brown says he's disappointed to hear that. (AP)

  • Maybe Brown isn't leaving, but AD DeLoss Dodds is. (NBC's College Football Talk)

  • Former Texas quarterback James Street, who led the Longhorns to a national championship in 1969 and later became famous again as the father of star MLB reliever Huston Street, dies at age 65. (AP)

  • The early favorite to replace Kiffin at USC: Former Trojan linebacker and Jaguars coach, and current Broncos defensive coordinator, Jack DelRio. (College Football Talk)

  • A little early for an installment of Declaring for the NFL Draft, but, nonetheless, we have an entrant: Florida's Dominique Easley. (AP)

  • Steffi Graf ended her career two Grand Slam titles short of Margaret Court's record of 24 Slam championships. But she thinks Serena Williams, who currently has 17, can break it. (AP)
