Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, while browsing the NHL Network’s Top 10 Rivalries of All-Time with the Bruins taking the top of the charts with their Montreal Canadiens hate-fest. It’s hard-earned and it’s true even if the B’s/Habs rivalry is in a little bit of a lull right now until some new villains and lead characters take ownership of the longtime divisional rivalry.

Included below is a clip from the NHL Network’s video rundown of each of the rivalries with interviews, old clips and sound bytes from some of the key figures in the rivalry.

NHL Network’s Top 10 Rivalries of All-Time:
1. Canadiens vs Bruins
2. Canadiens vs Maple Leafs
3. Flames vs Oilers
4. Penguins vs Flyers
5. Blackhawks vs Red Wings
6. Rangers vs Islanders
7. Avalanche vs Red Wings
8. Penguins vs Capitals
9. Oilers vs Jets
10.Rangers vs Devils

*Good Q&A with FOH (Friend of Haggs) Eric Engels speaking with Michel Therrien about his critics and how he’s learned to survive in Montreal all this time.

*Justin Faulk joins the NHL Network to talk about his All-Star nod, and what it means to the Carolina Hurricanes D-man.

*According to one Colorado blogger, the Avalanche don’t have the luxury of trading offense for defense if they deal away Gabriel Landeskog or Matt Duchene. With all due respect to the blogger, improving a team with puck-moving D-men demonstrably improves an offense all over the ice even if a skilled forward is being traded away.

*Good piece from Jon Rosen about Jarrett Stoll gaining some experience in a player development internship with the Los Angeles Kings after he couldn’t find NHL work to start the season.

*In honor of Alex Ovechkin netting his 1,000th career point last night, here’s the best photos SI could muster for No. 8’s career in Washington.

*Marc Staal has a concussion and his return his unknown to the New York Rangers, who couldn’t afford to lose one of their bookend D-men.

*As mentioned above, here’s the NHL Network clip about the Bruins/Canadiens rivalry that’s got some great old clips along with thoughts from legends like Ray Bourque and Bobby Orr.

*For something completely different: big props to Chris Hardwick for remembering all the words to Bobby Brown’s rap from Ghostbusters 2. That’s an impressive nerd feat if ever there was one.
