Earlier this week after being a healthy scratch, the Bruins' Shawn Thornton responded with a goal-scoring outburst, at least for him.
"Blind luck," is what he called his goal against the Rangers in New York on Tuesday night. It gave him a whopping three goals this season.
After sitting again for the Bruins' 3-2 shootout loss to the Bruins. Thornton told Michael Felger and Gary Tanguay on "Uno Sports Tonight" that he's never happy about sitting but, "I have no problem with it when it's for the good of team."
When he was scratched against Carolina on Monday night in favor of Jordan Caron, "the decision made sense," Thornton said. "We needed to get Jordy in there after he had been sitting for seven or eight days."
Thornton is also not a fan of the shootout.
"I'm OK with them changing the format to four-on-four and then three-on-three," he said.
