BOSTON - The Bruins trotted out Zdeno Chara and Gregory Campbell for the first time in the preseason on Thursday night, and they gave 19-year-old Malcolm Subban a full game between the pipes after he impressed in his Monday night appearance against the Canadiens at the Bell Centre.

“He’s been good.  I gauge more about the results of the game and I thought he made some real sound saves in that Montreal game where he had all the reasons in the world to be extremely nervous – playing in Montreal, in that building, against his brother -- and yet he seemed poised and calm and in control,” said Claude Julien. “He’s earned the right to play a whole game so we’re going to give him that.

“That was our biggest, I guess our biggest question mark beginning of camp is how much to give certain goaltenders. We’ve got some goaltenders that are obviously battling for that backup job, and at the same time you want to get your number one goaltender ready to play. So we’ve just been kind of moving those parts around a little bit and right now we feel that he’s certainly deserving of a game – a full game.”

In addition rookie Craig Cunningham will get a look on the right wing in place of enforcer Shawn Thornton, and Nick Johnson gets slotted in with Carl Soderberg and Matt Fraser after scoring twice against Montreal. On defense, Dougie Hamilton gets partnered up with Zdeno Chara in the top pairing, and an exciting young duo of Matt Bartkowski and Zach Trotman will test themselves against the likes of Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg.

With that in mind here are the line combos and D pairings based on the pregame warm-up:

Lucic-Krejci-Iginla
Flick-Spooner-Caron
Johnson-Soderberg-Fraser
Paille-Campbell-Cunningham

Chara-Hamilton
Krug-McQuaid
Bartkowski-Trotman
