BOSTON – The Bruins have cleared Daniel Paille to play, and he will be back in the lineup against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday afternoon after missing a pair of games with a concussion. He’ll have a new linemate as Matthew Lindblad will make his NHL debut – the seventh player to play their first NHL game as a member of the Bruins this season – skating in place of enforcer Shawn Thornton as a member of the Merlot Line.

Thornton was scratched earlier this season against the Carolina Hurricanes as well, given the lack of an enforcer in their lineup since they dealt Kevin Westgarth to the Calgary Flames.

Andrej Meszaros will be the healthy scratch along the defenseman corps with Corey Potter, and it will be the longtime six D-men getting back together against a Hurricanes team that’s finally caught fire lately. Chad Johnson will be the starting goaltender looking to improve to 3-1 since the Olympic break, and he’ll be faced by a red-hot Cam Ward between the pipes for the Hurricanes.

Here are the line combos and D-pairings based on pregame warm-up with the Bruins looking to win their eighth game in a row:

Lucic-Krejci-Iginla
Marchand-Bergeron-Smith
Kelly-Soderberg-Eriksson
Paille-Campbell-Lindblad

Chara-Boychuk
Bartkowski-Miller
Krug-Hamilton

Johnson
