SASKATOON – The reports that Bruins President Cam Neely and power forward Milan Lucic are definitely going to be included in the Dumb and Dumber sequel might be a little overstated at this point in time.

The first sequel to star original cast members Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in the hilarious, outrageous paean to stupidity, it was reported that Neely had already been locked down to reprise his role as Sea Bass, the badass trucker looking to serve knuckle sandwiches to Carrey and Daniels’ characters.

A couple of blogs, ScreenCrush.com and Jim Carrey Online, had confirmed that Sea Bass had been written into the sequel and that Neely had been signed on to once again play the mean sun of a gun some 20 years later. Even better it was also rumored fellow British Columbia native Lucic was going to play “Son of Sea Bass” after he had lobbied one of the Farrelly Brothers, Bobby, in person to include him in the movie as well.

Neely told CSNNE.com Friday that while he’d really love to do it, there is nothing set in stone with a movie production that’s already begun filming and is expected to move quickly.

“We haven’t exchanged any dates or times of when we’re going to shoot any scenes, and I know we’re talking about a very limited window of time when they’ll be shooting the movie,” said Neely. “So things will have to line up perfectly.”

Lucic reaffirmed his interest in appearing in the Dumb and Dumber sequel given that he’s such a big fan of the original, but hasn’t heard anything from the creative team putting together the move.

“We haven’t talked about it yet, but if it’s there [to do] then I’m more than willing,” said Lucic. “I think it would be a cool experience if I get to be a part of it. I was kind of ‘seriously joking’ when I talked to Bobby [Farrelly] about it. It would be cool.

“I’ve probably seen the original movie about 50 times, so it would definitely be a cool experience.”

So while the Bruins tandem isn’t yet involved in the movie, we’re saying there’s a chance.
