·   Michael Grange says that the 24/7: Road to the Winter Classic treatment by HBO is not good for the Toronto Maple Leafs. I have all the respect in the world for Michael, but I wonder what his opinion would be if it were his television station carrying an all-access show about the Leafs? The TV series is good for hockey and all of the 30 teams within the NHL. Period.

·   Chris Botta, by way of PHT, has a report of four or five outdoor games possible in 2014-15. Remember when I reported last season to expect an outdoor game at Gillette Stadium in the next couple of years? There’s a solid chance the Bruins and Gillette could be involved next season. Stay turned on that one.

·   The Bruins Daily blog makes the case for the Bruins serving as the visiting team against the Washington Capitals for the 2014-15 Winter Classic, but I’m not expecting that one to materialize.

·   Alex Ovechkin says that rough, rugged power forward Tom Wilson is giving the Washington Capitals a kick butt presence they have been missing over the last couple of seasons.

·   Brad Marchand just closed on a $1.46 million penthouse condo in the North End, and NESN has the photos to prove it. Must be nice to be living large like the Nose Face Killah these days.

·   Brian Burke wins a legal judgment in his lawsuit against a group of nameless, faceless internet comment mongers that cooked up a nasty rumor about him.

·   For something completely different: here is the video of Louis C.K.’s appearance on Conan from the other night. Funny and brilliant, as he always is.
