Here are the links from all around the hockey world, and what I’m reading on a Tuesday morning while looking forward to another great goodbye moment on the Letterman show tonight.
*Don Cherry ripped the Russian World Championship team for leaving the ice during the Canadian national anthem after losing in the Gold Medal game.
*Tyler Johnson has been nothing short of incredible for the Tampa Bay Lightning during their playoff run, and put together a hat trick in Monday night’s Game 2 win.
*Todd McLellan will be named the new coach of the Edmonton Oilers. It should be quite a scene in Oil City next season with Peter Chiarelli running things, McLellan behind the bench and Connor McDavid joining the roster.
*Some pretty great news as doctors are optimistic they’ll find a liver donor for Senators owner Eugene Melnyk after a huge outpouring over the last week.
*Landon Ferraro could have some real momentum for making the Red Wings out of camp after a strong performance in the playoffs.
*Patrick Leonard says there is plenty of blame to go around for an embarrassing loss by the Rangers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The image of Marty St. Louis stumbling at the blue line leading into a shorthanded Tampa goal was pretty rough.
Boston Bruins
*Zdeno Chara checked another thing off his big bucket list when he sailed with the Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing team last weekend.
*For something completely different: Jon Hamm sat down for an interview after the Mad Men finale, and really shed an interesting light on the meaning behind the final few minutes of the show.
*For something completely different Part II: As mentioned above, Eddie Vedder totally crushed it singing “Better Man” on Letterman last night.
