As late as a month ago, former Bruins player and NBC NHL analyst Mike Milbury didn't think the Bruins were a legitimate Stanley Cup contender.

The 3-0 victory over the Blackhawks on Thursday, Boston's 13th win in their past 14 games, was the clincher for Milbury to admit he was wrong.

When asked by Michael Felger on Cross Check what we learned about the B's with their victory over the defending Cup champions, Milbury responded

"We learned that I'm a idiot," he said. "A month, six weeks ago, we talked about are they contenders or pretenders? On paper, they shouldn't be. They are. Their defense has come around. Whether it's coaching or whether it's talent. But one of the things I like about this organization is they look for guys who are intelligent. They're coachable. They've put together not only a first and second line, but also a third line and their defense has come around with a goaltender [Tuukka Rask] who's among the best in the league...Mea culpa."
