BOSTON While the Bruins have managed to whistle their way through the first five games of the playoffs in relative health, coach Claude Julien did give an update on injured defenseman Steve Kampfer Sunday morning. The 22-year-old puck-moving blueliner had spent the end of the year with the Providence Bruins after being relegated to healthy-scratch status following a tough game at the end of March in Nashville. He injured his knee during his first weekend with Providence.Kampfer is expected to join the Black Aces team of young reserves once he returns to health, and Julien estimated the young defenseman is 7-10 days away from returning. Hes not back to skating. Hes still getting treatment, said Julien.Shane Hnidy has served as Bostons seventh defenseman for four of the five playoff games, and stepped in to play for Bs captain Zdeno Chara when the 6-foot-9 defenseman suffered severe dehydration and missed Game 2 for Boston. Matt Bartkowski is Bostons other alternative when the inevitable attrition hits Bostons blueline, and a healthy Kampfer would add to that necessary depth situation for the Black and Gold.
