On the first day of free agency, Jarome Iginla and Shawn Thornton are now known as 'former Boston Bruins.'
Michael Felger believes Peter Chiarelli falls in love with his players far too easily, and now it has the Bruins handcuffed by the NHL salary cap, making it hard to maintain Iginla.
"Do they have enough to win a championship?" asked Felger. "Why you would ever stand pat, to me, is beyond me. The LA Kings, the best team in hockey added Marian Gaborik at the trade deadline. The Chicago Blackhawks, who won the cup last year after they beat the Bruins, pretty much let their entire fourth line go."
"They weren't afraid to constantly make changes and evolve, look at your roster and make hard decisions. I don't know if Chiarelli does that quite enough."
Bob Neumeier made a suggestion to improve the team.
"The reality is, unless you're counting on the kids to jump up big time," said Neumeier. "You're going to have to make a trade. Because right now you're not as good moving forward as you were last year."
