*Some interesting snippets from a Vancouver Canucks pow wow with the season ticket holders where Jim Benning and Trevor Linden provided some insight into their plan.

*Marc Savard continues to sound pessimistic about his return to the NHL – and rightfully so – but has no problems excelling on the golf course.

*Paul Stewart provides three rules to prospective referees when it comes to avoiding collisions on the ice. It seems simple, but hockey is such a fast game.

*The AHL provides their alignment plan for the 2014-15 season, and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of shockers with the P-Bruins' division.

*It appears that old friend Vladimir Sobotka might be headed off to the KHL.

*Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane sign mega-extensions for eight years apiece that essentially ensure the bulk of their careers will be spent as members of the Chicago Blackhawks. Some in the B’s media were crowing about the bargain that Patrice Bergeron provides Boston in comparison to Toews ($6.5 million to $10.5 million), but now is really not the time for any chest-thumping about the salary-cap work done by a B’s team that’s currently in cap jail. Lets save that for the next time that they actually win a Cup.

*Dany Heatley signs a one-year, $1 million dollar contract with the Anaheim Ducks to prove he’s not cooked at soon-to-be 34. Many of my twitter followers wanted the Bruins to buy low on the former two-time 50-goal scorer, but he’s a long way from that player. His skating, shooting and general hockey skills are all in major decline, and he’s looked pretty much done in the past two years with Minnesota.

*For something completely different: The Sea Dogs are going to wear Chewbacca baseball jerseys in August. That is awesome.
