Haggerty's Morning Skate: Remembering Al Arbour

Share

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, after a fun Saturday morning trip to Southwick’s Zoo in Mendon, Mass. I highly recommend it for the family.

*PHT writer Ryan Dadoun has the tributes pouring in for Hall of Fame coach Al Arbour after he passed away at 82.

*What a difference a year makes for Cody Eakin as he prepares for training camp after signing a four year deal with the Dallas Stars.

*Minnesota Wild coach Mike Yeo maintains his support for one of his assistant coaches after his recent arrest.

*FOH (Friend of Haggs) Scott Burnside has the good, the bad and the unknown from a very strange offseason for the NHL.

*The Detroit Red Wings are the latest team to add a fancy stats analyst to their front office staff after it worked so well for the Oilers and Maple Leafs last season. Or maybe it was just a freaky coincidence because fancy stats disciples believe in those, right?

*If anybody is interested in having their youth hockey player take part in an on-ice skills clinic with some Bruins legends, sign up for it here.

*For something completely different: a nice piece from Charlie Pierce remembering the legendary Darryl Dawkins, who I bumped into at the Philly airport a few years ago. That dude was gigantic in person, and his personality was just as outsized.
