*Jason Botterill gives the state of the Pittsburgh Penguins as they ready for the July 1 opening of free agency.

*Interesting discussion in San Jose where the possibility of stripping Joe Thornton of his “C” with the Sharks remains a distinct possibility. No word on whether Kevin Paul Dupont was nodding his head vigorously in Boston.

*Scott Burnside gives some updates on the teams with the most work left to do after draft weekend. Also, a hearty congrats to Burnside, who was named the new President of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.

*The Habs are looking to trade Josh Gorges, and they’ve been forced to ask him to expand the list of teams he’d clear for a trade.

*Steve Yzerman has been staying busy down in Tampa dealing away players, and then dealing away players that he just dealt for to make cap space.

*Andrew Ference caught up with the Boston Herald in Las Vegas at the NHL Awards, and went over his first year in Edmonton.

*For something completely different: apparently Facebook was doing trials unbeknownst to their users concerning mood manipulation, and it’s got a lot of social media users up in arms.
