*San Jose columnist Tim Kamakami says that the Sharks organization is going through a “nervous breakdown.”

*Puck Daddy’s Greg Wyshynski gives his take on the Capitals/Blackhawks matchup for the Winter Classic. It may continue to keep the Western teams out in the cold for the NHL’s showpiece event, but the colorful group of Blackhawks characters will make for good TV when it comes to 24/7. That should matter to the league, and everybody that loves its continued growth.

*Speaking of Washington, FOH (Friend of Haggs) Ben Raby has a piece on CSN Washington about Tom Wilson ready for some competition next season with the Caps.

*Brian Burke gives some opinions on the Toronto hockey media, and he uses the phrase “horse [bleep]” multiple times.

*LA Kings insider Sam Rosen has a compilation of the quotable Darryl Sutter from this season, and Rosen has spent plenty of time with the plain-spoken Kings coach.

*Tim Wharnsby says that experience is the new coaching trend as the age is skewing up for hires across the NHL. Perhaps the success of Sutter in Los Angeles has had something to do with that.

*Former Bruins farmhand defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk finally got a few moments with the Cup as a member of the Kings organization.

*The common belief in Colorado is that Paul Stastny is going to have to take a hometown discount, or he won’t be playing for the Avalanche anymore.

*For something completely different: it was a fun surprise visit for Jimmy Kimmel with Toucher and Rich in studio on 98.5 the Sports Hub this morning.
