Haggerty's Morning Skate: Blackhawks still seeking D-man

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading while glad I wasn’t taught by the current crop of journalism professors in Missouri that aren’t practicing what they should be preaching with First Amendment rights.

*Don Brennan is having a difficult time defining the Ottawa Senators and the inconsistent season that they’re off to after the first month.

*Spector has his round-up where the return of Duncan Keith hasn’t deterred the Chicago Blackhawks from seeking out another D-man.

*Tom Wilson is trying to balance playing physical hockey with playing a smarter brand of hockey as well. Some might say he’s already playing that brand of hockey given the way he picks his spots to drop the gloves with opponents.

*Good read from Frank Seravalli about the junior hockey team that pretty much caused a mutiny after firing the coaching staff over the owner’s son’s playing time.

*Daniel Alfredsson is chafing at the creativity that is being sucked out of junior hockey, and the way the game is being taught.

*Here’s the video of Bob McKenzie accepting the Elmer Ferguson Award at the Hockey Hall of Fame induction on Monday night. He is the pinnacle of my profession, and somebody I am damned proud to have representing the very best of the hockey media on both the written and video side of things. Congratulations, Bob!
